Citi Asia-Pacific Names Private Banking Investments Head
Citi Private Bank has announced the appointment of So-Yon Sohn as Asia-Pacific regional investments head, with effect from 23 September 2013, according to a memo seen by WealthBriefingAsia.
Sohn is currently the head of Asia-Pacific credit sales and fixed income sales in Hong Kong, where she oversees the distribution of all flow credit products in Asia, excluding Japan. This includes cash, derivatives and flow structured product. She will retain her current responsibilities and assist in the transition until her replacement is named.
Malay Ghatak, who was the interim head since March 2013, will be focusing on his other role as head of Citi Private Bank's global investment product management business. The previous head, Debashish Dutta Gupta, became the global market manager for India.
As CPB regional investments head, Sohn will be responsible for all investments business, including capital markets, managed investments, product management and safety. She will lead a team of investment counsellors, product specialists and strategists and will be responsible for formulating and executing the private banking arm's investment strategy across all asset classes in the region.
Based in Hong Kong, she reports to Eduardo Martinez Campos, head of investments for Citi Private Bank, and Bassam Salem, chief executive for Asia-Pacific.
Citi Private Bank specialises in wealth management services to high net worth individuals and families with a minimum net worth of $10 million.
