ANZ Names Acting Chief Economist To The Asia-Pacific Unit

ANZ, one of Australia's Big Four banks, has named a new chief economist for Asia-Pacific based in Hong Kong.
Glenn Maguire is now responsible for economic research in South and South East Asia and the Pacific. Maguire has been acting in this role since May 2013 after Paul Gruenwald moved to Standard & Poor's Singapore to assume a similar position.
He brings extensive financial services experience to the post, having spent 16 years at Societe Generale, including as head of Asian economic research in Hong Kong.
ANZ operates in 28 markets across the Asia-Pacific region. Recently, the bank announced that it is selling additional notes to fund its capital management strategy, just shortly after establishing a new representative branch in Myanmar.
