The latest moves and appointments for wealth management roles in the UK, other parts of Europe, the Middle East and select international locations.
Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management
Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management has appointed Benjamin
Rousseau as portfolio manager for European small and mid-cap
equities, to strengthen its investment capacities.
The portfolio manager will be involved in a European small and mid-cap equity strategy, to be launched later this year, the firm said in a statement this week.
Based in Paris, Rousseau joined the equity team in September, reporting to Caroline Gauthier and Jacques-Aurélien Marcireau, co-heads of equity management. Prior to joining Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, he worked for Cogefi Gestion as a European small and mid-cap equity portfolio manager for four years. Between 2011 and 2018, he held the same position at CM-CIC AM where he contributed to the growth of AuM on small and mid-cap strategies, the firm added.
Welcoming him to the firm, Benjamin Melman, global CIO asset management, said: “His in-depth knowledge of the European small and mid-cap equity market will enable us to further develop our management capabilities for the benefit of our clients.”
Edmond de Rothschild, which specialises in private banking and asset management, serves an international clientele of families, entrepreneurs and institutional investors. The group is also active in corporate finance, private equity, real estate and fund services.
Fidelity International
Fidelity
International, an investment management services provider,
appointed Dr Ilga Haubelt this week as head of equities, Europe.
Based in London, Haubelt will lead Fidelity’s European-based equity investment team, driving investment performance and identifying opportunities for building out new strategies to create the best outcomes for the firm's clients.
In line with Fidelity’s commitment to sustainable investing, Haubelt will also ensure that sustainability principles are deeply integrated into the equity investment process, in close collaboration with Fidelity’s global investment research team, the firm said in a statement.
Haubelt is joining from Newton Investment Management, where she was most recently head of equity income and senior portfolio manager, the firm added. She has close to 20 years of experience in financial services, including ten years leading global equities teams. She worked for Union Investment Privatfonds and Deka Investments in Germany before moving to London in 2019. She began her asset management career with Munich Ergo Asset Management (MEAG) as a real estate specialist, the firm said.
The news follows the recent appointment of Marty Dropkin as head of equities, Asia Pacific at Fidelity, who, along with Haubelt, reports to Andrew McCaffery, global CIO.
