BNP Paribas IP Names Asia-Pac, Emerging Markets Head

BNP Paribas Investment Partners has named a new Asia-Pacific head.
Ligia Torres is now head of Asia-Pacific and emerging markets after serving as head of the UK operation at BNP Paribas Wealth Management. She also was the chairman of BNPP IP in the UK. In her new role, she remains based in London and reports to Philippe Marchessaux, chief executive of BNPP IP.
Also newly appointed is Vincent Camerlynck as chief executive for Asia-Pacific. Camerlynck used to be the deputy CEO for Asia-Pacific. He relocates to Hong Kong from London, where he was head of global institutional sales and now reports to Torres.
BNP Paribas IP has around €478 billion in assets under management as at 31 June 2013. Around $79 billion are in Asia-Pacific and emerging markets.
