HSBC Global Asset Management Expands Asian Equities Arm With Two Hires

HSBC Global Asset Management has expanded its Asian equity investment team in Hong Kong.

Michael Chiu and Karma Wilson join the company as investment directors for equities, with a focus on the fund management of Chinese equities and Asian equities, respectively.

Chiu brings over 12 years of experience in the Greater China equity markets to his new role, after serving as senior investment management at ING Investment Management's Chinese equity portfolios arm. Prior to that, he worked for Credit Suisse Asset Management in Sydney as assistant vice president in the Asian equity unit.

He will be based in Hong Kong and report directly to Mandy Chan, head of Chinese equities.

Wilson has over 14 years of experience in the same capacity and most recently served as head of Asian equities at AMP Capital Investors in Sydney. Before that, she was senior portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs in New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Also based in Hong Kong, she reports to Husan Pai and Michael Dillon, co-heads of Asian equities.

HSBC Global Asset Management is a subsidiary of the HSBC Group and specialises in investment solutions for a diverse global client base, including central banks, sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, endowments and foundations and fund managers.
