LGT Profit Rises, Assets Surpass SFr400 Billion For First Time

The private banking and asset management group delivered first-half figures, including a record AuM result.
LGT, the
Liechtenstein-based private banking and asset management group
owned by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein, reported group
profit of SFr281.6 million ($346.4 million) for the first half of
2026, up 17 per cent on a year earlier.
The result was supported by higher revenue and moderate cost
growth, the bank said in a statement today.
The banking group said it expects the geopolitical environment
and financial market conditions to remain too difficult to
predict for the remainder of the year.
“Following the targeted growth investments made in recent years,
our focus is on consolidating our presence in our existing
markets worldwide and consistently leveraging the benefits of our
international platform,” HSH Prince Max von und zu Liechtenstein,
chairman LGT, said.
Assets under management reached SFr412.6 billion as at 30 June, a
record, having risen 7 per cent over the period. The increase was
driven by net new asset inflows of SFr12.3 billion, an annualised
growth rate of 6.4 per cent, alongside market performance and
currency effects.
LGT said the figures do not reflect a full comparable period for
Commonwealth Bank of Australia's Private Advice business, which
it acquired in June 2025.
Income from services, the group's largest revenue contributor,
rose 7 per cent to SFr1.00 billion, driven by the higher asset
base and client activity. Income from trading and other operating
income rose 1 per cent to SFr325.9 million, while net interest
income fell 2 per cent to SFr156.6 million. Total operating
income rose 5 per cent to SFr1.49 billion.
Operating costs rose by 2 per cent to SFr1.09 billion, with
personnel costs up 2 per cent at SFr867 million as headcount rose
by 62 full-time equivalents. The cost income ratio improved to
73.3 per cent, from 76.8 per cent at the end of 2025. LGT's
Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio stood at 18.0 per cent as at
30 June.
LGT Capital Partners recently added the venture capital team of
Sapphire Partners, extending its US presence.
LGT also opened a new headquarters building in Vaduz in
April.
