UK Private Bank Names New Private Client Director

Brown Shipley, the UK-based private bank, has recruited Graham Johnson from Adam & Co to take up the role of private client director for its London office.
Johnson, who had been with the Royal Bank of Scotland-owned firm since 2006 and was a senior investment manager, will be working on the investment team as well as advising private clients in his new role at Brown Shipley.
As previously reported by WealthBriefing, towards the end of last month Adam & Co hired Michael Gifford as an investment director. Gifford previously managed both fixed income and equity portfolios at the likes of Old Mutual, F&C and Canada Life.
Brown Shipley has been busily hiring recently, both in London and regionally, and in mid-April further boosted its Birmingham office with the appointment of Clive Batchelor and Adrian Lewis as senior private banking managers.
Both appointees were formerly private bankers at Coutts - Adam & Co’s sister bank - and will now work alongside their former colleague, Anne Brookes. February saw a coup for the bank’s Birmingham office, when it hired former Coutts senior client partner Brookes as private banking director.
