Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Gravis, Close Brothers AM, Others

The latest moves and appointments in wealth management in the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and other select locations.
Gravis
UK-based property and infrastructure investment firm Gravis, has made two senior
promotions and appointed a figure to join its distribution
team.
Cameron Gardner has been promoted as the firm’s first director,
head of distribution. She will report to Phil Kent, chief
executive.
Gardner joined Gravis in 2019 and most recently was associate
director, head of London sales. In her new role, Gardner will
oversee the firm's activities across all funds, leading a
newly-expanded, and growing team. Gravis’ distribution team has
now grown to eight professionals, covering all the Gravis’
funds.
Gravis also promoted William MacLeod to managing director -
commercial, to work alongside the CEO, the investment management
teams, the distribution team and other group companies to enhance
and explore commercial opportunities.
Lastly, Jason Anderson has joined as head of London sales.
Anderson was formerly at Columbia Threadneedle where he headed up
the Southern sales team. Previously he worked at Fidelity,
Threadneedle and Thames River Capital.
Close Brothers Asset Management
UK-based Close
Brothers Asset Management has appointed Marcus Vertue as
senior investment director, based in CBAM’s London City head
office. He will manage a broad range of portfolios for high net
worth clients, the firm said in a statement.
Vertue specialises in taxable portfolios, ISAs, self-invested pension plans, family trusts and Inheritance tax planning wrappers, catering to private individuals and their families. With over 30 years of industry experience, he was previously at Investec Wealth & Investment.
“Marcus brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our London team. With a long-term track record of working with high net worth individuals and their families, we’re thrilled to have him on board,” Giles Marshall, head of bespoke at CBAM, said.
Federated Hermes
Federated
Hermes has appointed Sian Long as investment director,
impact and sustainable equity strategies, to meet growing client
demand for responsible investment solutions.
Based in London, Long will be a client-facing representative for Federated Hermes' sustainable global equity, impact opportunities, SDG engagement and biodiversity strategies, liaising with external client stakeholders and enhancing the investment team’s capacity to maintain close management of portfolios. She reports into James Cook, head of investment specialists, the firm said in a statement.
Long has 15 years of investment experience and a track record of presenting and delivering long-term asset growth in impact and sustainable equity strategies across institutional and wholesale clients. Prior to joining Federated Hermes, she worked for AXA Investment Managers, where she was a senior equity investment specialist. Before that, she was associate investment director at Schroders covering global equity sustainable growth and global equity climate change strategies.
“We have seen a significant acceleration towards sustainable and impact investing in the last year, with many clients re-evaluating their long-term objectives in response to the transition to a more sustainable global economy. This is demonstrated by the strong levels of flows across our impact and sustainable equity strategies over the past year,” Cook said.
