Barclays Private Bank Names MFO, External Asset Management Head For UAE

The role is an example of how intermediaries such as multi-family offices and external asset managers are important for banks as clients.

Barclays Private Bank has confirmed that Neil Cabral (main picture) has been named head of multi-family office and external asset management in the United Arab Emirates.

Cabral’s remit is to develop the EAM business in the UAE. The team is led by Belal Khan, who is the family office coverage head.

The banker referred to his appointment on his LinkedIn page yesterday; the page shows that prior to joining Barclays, Cabral was CEO of a single-family office, GFG Alliance. He is also given as a board member of Beacon Media, as well as having been a board advisor to Hyderabad FC.

Other past roles include a stint (August 2021 to March 2023) as MD and global head of key clients for Lighthouse Canton.

Yesterday, we published this report about Barclays Private Bank’s survey of wealthy Indian women and the issues around intergenerational wealth transfer.
