European Firm Serving US Expats Opens NYC Office

The business, which is headquartered in Nice, has opened an office in the iconic Rockefeller Center as it builds out its proposition.

Levitt Capital Management, a France-based wealth manager for US citizens living in Europe, has opened its first New York office.

Located in the Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, the office will give Levitt a US base to meet with prospective and existing clients, as well as other professionals based in the city, it said in a statement yesterday.

Headquartered in Nice, France, Levitt Capital Management was founded to address the advice challenges facing US citizens who relocate to Europe. Unlike citizens of most countries, US expats still have to file annual returns to the Internal Revenue Service, creating a compliance burden that can deter foreign financial firms from serving them.

However, a number of specialist organisations are reaching out to expats, recognising that they are often affluent. (See a related set of stories here, and here.)

In addition to managing their financial affairs, Levitt Capital Management helps its clients integrate into their new countries of residence, for example by introducing them to networks of like-minded individuals and providing them with curated cultural experiences via its “European Life Series” of events.

“Americans who relocate to Europe have uniquely complex financial needs, which advisors on either side of the Atlantic are ill-equipped to understand and address,” Robert Levitt, who founded the firm and is its chief investment officer, said.

Levitt Capital Management was founded in 2022. Levitt previously established and managed a Boca Raton, Florida-headquartered hedge fund before moving to France in 2007.
