UBS Sponsors New "Fast Growth" Company List

For a business such as UBS, supporting this project is a way of showcasing its own work with SME founders and owners – an important source of current and future clients.
UBS is sponsoring the
UK-wide expansion of a project honouring the fastest-growing
firms in Wales.
A list of 400 eligible firms in nations and regions of the UK
will be published in the autumn of 2023, namely the East of
England, London, the Midlands, the North of England, Northern
Ireland, Scotland, the South of England, and Wales.
“Fast-growth” firms are those chalking up 20 per cent growth a
year. They account for less than 0.6 per cent of all UK
businesses but account for half of the total small- and
medium-sized enterprise turnover output.
The focus on such rapidly expanding businesses fits with the UK
government’s “levelling up” agenda for the UK regions, UBS said
in a statement.
For a business such as UBS, supporting this project is a way
of showcasing its own work with SME founders and owners
– an important source of current and future clients.
The list will open for applications on 1 March and those named
on the list will be celebrated at awards events in Belfast,
Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds and
London in October and November.
"Since 1999, we have seen the massive impact that the fastest
growing firms in Wales have had on the economy with 701
businesses creating 55,000 jobs and generating £30 billion of
additional turnover, much of which is spent in their local area,”
Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, founder of the Fast Growth 50, said.
