Simkins, the London media, entertainment and commercial law firm, has launched a family department and expanded its private client practice, making three new hires.
Partner Deborah Jeff (pictured) will head the new family team, having joined from west end law firm Seddons where she previously founded and led a team for 15 years.
Jeff advises on all aspects of family law with a particular emphasis on asset protection for high and ultra-high net worth individuals with complex financial interests. She also advises clients on pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and the resolution of complex financial issues within divorce.
With clients including public figures, singer/songwriters and actors, she is known for her understanding of the psychological impact of relationship breakdown and is commended by her clients for her compassionate and understanding approach, Simkins said in a statement.
Associate Jessica Keal is joining the family department, bringing experience across a range of family law matters. She has a particular interest in family law matters for LGBTQ+ families and individuals and in matters relating to the medical care and treatment of children. She has a master’s degree in business.
Joining the firm’s private client team from Russell-Cooke Solicitors, associate Oliver Sharp will advise individuals, families and trustees on matters relating to estate planning and succession, wills and lasting powers of attorney, and administration of estates. Sharp routinely advises international clients with complex commercial requirements across multiple jurisdictions. His extensive commercial experience provides a further depth of knowledge to what is a growing area of the practice. He is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners and the Association of Taxation Technicians.
“Deborah, Jessica and Oliver are ideal recruits for our client base in the world of media, entertainment and advertising; their practices and expertise thoroughly complement and enhance our existing Tier 1 practice,” Euan Lawson, Simkins’ managing partner, said.
