Multi-Asset Broker Signs Partnership Deal With English Football Team
There has been a number of deals between financial services firms and English Premier League sides since the league's creation in 1992.
Multi-asset brokerage firm Blackwell Global
has agreed a partnership deal with English Premier League
football club Everton. The Merseyside team has become the latest
football side to affiliate with a financial services company.
The deal is Blackwell’s first sporting partnership as well as
Everton’s first official forex and brokerage partner, Blackwell
said in a statement.
The multi-year partnership will allow Blackwell to gain
international exposure as it expands across Europe and Asia. The
firm will collaborate with the club on several fronts, including
home match brand exposure and trading.
"I'm immensely proud to partner with Everton Football Club in our
first ever sporting partnership,” said Michael Chai, chairman of
Blackwell Global Group. “It's an honour to be working with a club
recognised for their rich history and steadfast commitment and
dedication to their worldwide fanbase. These are values we
cherish and we look forward to a fruitful friendship in the
coming years."
There have been a few English Premier League teams which
have affiliated with financial services firms since the league's
creation in 1992. AIG were main sponsors of Manchester United
from 2006 to 2010, Newcastle United’s main sponsors, between the
years 2003-2013, were both Northern Rock and Virgin Money, and
West Ham United had a partnership deal with Alpari FX in
2011-2015, to be the club’s former kit sponsor and stand sponsor,
before the firm went bust.
