Neuberger Berman Makes Senior Hire In London

Neuberger Berman, the UK-listed private investment manager, has appointed Andrew Wilmont as European high yield portfolio manager, based in London.

Neuberger Berman, the private investment manager, has appointed Andrew Wilmont as European high yield portfolio manager, based in London.

Wilmont most recently served as head of European high yield investments at Alcentra and reports to Ann Benjamin, Neuberger Berman’s chief investment officer for non-investment grade strategies.

Before joining Alcentra, Wilmont was head of European high yield strategies at AXA Investment Managers. He began his high yield investment career in 1997 at Gulf International Bank and he has also worked as a high yield portfolio manager at Pareto Partners and at New Flag Asset Management as a high yield credit analyst.

“High yield has matured into a global asset class and we’re delighted to expand our investment capabilities and the range of strategies Neuberger Berman offers to clients with an investor of Andrew’s calibre,” Benjamin said.

In other news, last month, Neuberger Berman appointed Charles Soullard to lead the firm’s French client efforts, reporting to Dik van Lomwel, head of EMEA and Latin America.

Neuberger Berman is also planning to introduce a European high yield fund for non-US investors as part of the firm’s growing UCITS fund platform.

Neuberger Berman had approximately $18 billion in assets as at 31 March 2014.
