China's E Fund Names Global Head Of Sales And Marketing

E Fund, the Chinese fund management firm, has bolstered its team with a new key sales and marketing hire.
Eugene Lee takes the role of global head of sales and marketing, replacing Marie Chew who has tendered her resignation effective the end of August for personal reasons. Lee was previously Asia head of equities at BBVA, the Spanish bank. Prior to that, he was head of structured products at HSBC, structured product sales at JP Morgan and head of ultra high net worth and institutional sales at Morgan Stanley.
"E Fund is entering the next phase of its international development and I am here to help with the overseas expansion," commented Lee in statement. "Currently most of our clients are multinational firms situated in Asia. Now we are looking at institutional investors in the US, Latin America and the Middle East."
In this new post, he reports to Huang Gaohui, managing director for Hong Kong.
Lee left BBVA in May 2012. BBVA Asia is currently shutting down its equity derivatives operations in the region.
E Fund has assets under management of around RMB203 billion ($32 billion) as of 30 June 2012.
