Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Clifton Asset Management, Absolute Financial Group

Management has appointed Ashley Wise (pictured) in the newly
created role of chief technology officer (CTO) to bolster its
senior leadership team.
Previouisly, Wise was a partner and CTO at Saltus for five years, leading the firm’s technology platform strategy. With a career spanning 20 years in the sector, he has experience across financial services, wealth management and private banking, including seven years as CTO for Edmond de Rothschild.
Wise will be responsible for enhancing the design and delivery of Clifton’s end-to-end technology platform, spanning client and advisor-facing systems, data infrastructure and operational efficiency. A priority will be adopting artificial intelligence responsibly across the business, from intelligent automation of back-office processes to AI-assisted tools that enhance the level of advice for clients, and improve service. Wise will also ensure that the technology strategy supports Clifton’s growth ambitions under the stewardship of CBPE.

Wise is the latest in a series of senior appointments for Clifton following private equity investment from CBPE in 2025, including Alex Kovach as chairmain, Jo Swain as chief risk officer and Julie Hansen as CEO for its SIPP business Morgan Lloyd.
Clifton Asset Management, which is part of the Clifton Group and parent company of Clifton Wealth Partnership and Morgan Lloyd, looks after pensions and investments on behalf of more than 15,000 clients.
Absolute Financial Group
UK-based Absolute
Financial Group has appointed Jaspreet Dhariwal as chief
compliance officer.
Dhariwal, who has more than 18 years of experience, will play a central role in its strategic growth plans, strengthening and overseeing its compliance framework, governance and risk management, the firm said in a statement.
Dhariwal will be responsible for Absolute’s overall risk management and compliance framework and will lead and strengthen governance, risk and compliance practices across the business. She will also be responsible for SMF16 Compliance Oversight and SMF17 Money Laundering Reporting and will report to CEO David Carter and the board.
Dhariwal's strong track record in the investment and wealth management sector includes working with consolidator businesses, She is joining from Verso, where she was chief compliance and risk officer. Previously, Dhariwal held senior positions at firms including Vintage Wealth Management, The Oberon Group and Kingswood Group.
“She [Dhariwal) brings highly specialised skills in compliance and risk management along with a deep knowledge of consolidation of IFA firms and growing businesses, which will strengthen our governance and control framework as we continue to grow whilst delivering the very best service to our clients,” Carter said.
