Mark Maller joins as head of the private bank in Florida, having worked at Bank of America for more than 10 years. Since 2007, he has been regional executive for US Trust in south-east Florida and president of Bank of America in Broward County.

Citi also took on Angel Ferrer from Wells Fargo Advisors as a director and senior private banker. Mr Ferrer joined predecessor firm Wachovia in 2003, where he was a senior vice president and relationship manager.

Citi's recent hirings in this area are seen as part of its global expansion drive in private banking.
