Japanese, Swiss Firms Extend Strategic Pact

Following an alliance with Lombard Odier in Singapore, Mizuho is targeting the HNW Japanese market and making use of the services Lombard Odier provides.

Mizuho Financial Group and Lombard Odier have entered a pact to serve high net worth Japanese clients.

Mizuho will be able to provide “more advanced and fully-fledged” wealth management services to Japanese HNW clients by using Lombard Odier’s network and expertise, the firms said in a statement yesterday.

The Japanese and Swiss firms will also swap employees and allow Mizuho employees to take part in Lombard Odier's training programmes.

In 2021 Mizuho launched “Mizuho Connected Services,” a membership service for its ultra-HNW clients which provides a “one-stop” service.

The alliance builds on an existing relationship between firms’ respective Singapore subsidiaries Mizuho Securities (Singapore) Pte Ltd and Lombard Odier (Singapore) Ltd, which was forged in 2018.
