Fidelity International Names APAC Ex-Japan Lead For Private Banking, Wealth

The firm said that the private banking business has grown significantly as a proportion of Fidelity’s overall business in Asia-Pacific.

Fidelity International has named an Asia – excluding Japan – leader to head up its private banking and wealth management business, who will be responsible for promoting the firm’s wealth offering in the region.

Johann Santer is responsible for driving the growth and regional alignment of Fidelity’s wealth proposition for clients across private bank and retail channels, as well as leading its strategic client programme. Santer, who joined Fidelity in July 2018, has more than 15 years’ industry experience in the asset management and private banking industries.

“The Asia-Pacific wealth market is rapidly growing in size and complexity, with end clients searching for increasingly more sophisticated solutions to meet their investment needs. As a leading asset manager in the region, with a diverse suite of investment offerings, Fidelity is well positioned to grow market share in this business segment,” Rajeev Mittal, managing director, Asia-Pacific ex-Japan, said.

Santer, who will continue to report to Mittal, will lead an expanded team of senior distribution experts across Hong Kong and Singapore.
