UK Investment Specialist RWC Adds To Team

This publication brings more news of moves and appointments in the global wealth management sector.
RWC Partners, the UK-based investment house with more than $11 billion of assets, has appointed Miki Sugimoto and Matthew Hannay to its “global horizon” team, led by Louise Keeling.
Sugimoto brings over 10 years’ experience on the buy-side from Veritas, where she was an assistant fund manager to the Real Return Asia Fund, and Newton Investment Management, where she was director of Japanese Equity.
Hannay joins from Baillie Gifford, where he worked for three years and spent time on the global income, developed Asia equities and North American equities desks as part of the graduate scheme.
The RWC Global Horizon equity strategy was launched in November 2013. It focuses on generating multi-year outperformance (as measured by rolling five-year performance) and is currently up 10.43 per cent since inception versus the benchmark (MSCI All Country World), which is up 7.22 per cent over the same period.
The strategy seeks to benefit from the time arbitrage that exists in a world obsessed with short-term trends by being a long-term investor and acting as an owner rather than renter of investee companies, the firm said. The team holds a portfolio of companies which it believes are trading at a significant discount to their intrinsic value.
