Wealth Manager Choppers In To Support London Charity

It’s always nice to see wealth management firms doing their bit for charity, and it’s even nicer when the charity in question is one that concerns the home of your glamorous correspondent, so it was very gratifying to see that the London Air Ambulance has been chosen by Coutts as its charity partner for this year.

London’s Air Ambulance provides pre-hospital medical care to victims of serious injury, at the scene of the incident, throughout London - serving the 10 million people who live, work and commute within the M25.  It operates 24/7 using a helicopter in the day and rapid response vehicles at night, and includes a senior trauma doctor along with a specially-trained paramedic - making it hugely expensive to run in addition to being a vital emergency service.

Coutts’ Charitable Foundation has donated an initial amount of £5,000 ($7,900) to kick-start the fundraising and staff themselves aim to raise a further £50,000 through efforts including a charity auction and poker night.

The LAA clearly struck a chord with Coutts’ staff, 56 per cent of whom chose this charity at the ballot; indeed, it should be a charity close to the hearts of all City folk.
