SEI Makes Senior Appointment In Africa
The South African-based subsidiary of SEI Investments has appointed Giles Mokoka as managing director and head of its operation in the country.
In his new Johannesburg-based role, Mokoka will report to Patrick Disney, managing director of SEI’s institutional group in the EMEA region, the firm said in a statement.
Mokoka joined SEI after starting his own consulting business, where he worked with boutique asset managers to source opportunities within the investment industry.
Prior to establishing the consulting business, Mokoka was involved in new business development at RMB Asset Management, where he was responsible for managing consultant relationships and growing the firm’s institutional business.
His career in institutional asset management includes both business development and sales roles at Old Mutual Asset Management and experience in servicing institutional clients within Investec Asset Management’s fund management team based in Cape Town.
In other recent hires, earlier last month SEI Global Wealth Services, a London-based subsidiary of SEI, appointed Cedric Bucher as director of client investment strategy within its private client team.
