RBC Wealth Management Creates New Division, Names Head

Royal Bank of Canada’s wealth management arm has created a new division, Private Client Wealth Management, British Isles, appointing Philip Harris as its head.

As part of his new role, Harris, who was latterly head of UK Domestic, is charged with growing the firm’s platform by recruiting teams covering Eastern Europe and the Middle East, and will report to Paul Patterson, head of RBC Wealth Management, British Isles.

The firm additionally said that it will be pressing ahead with the expansion drive around its UK Domestic business and that a number of new appointments are to be announced in the coming months.

The formation of the Private Client Wealth Management, British Isles division is intended to align all the firm's client-facing wealth managers in one team, and by this consolidation the firm believes its will be able to better ensure the consistency of service and advice it provides its clients.

In other recent changes at RBC Wealth Management, last month the firm announced its hire of Tracy Maeter  - latterly of HSBC - as head of investments, British Isles. Maeter had been with HSBC for five years, holding the roles of team head, sales management and team head, high net worth.
