New Managing Director At London-Based Northern Trust Global Investments

Northern Trust Global Investments, the London-based multi-asset class investment manager of Northern Trust, has appointed John Krieg to the newly-created position of managing director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Krieg, who joins from Northern Trust’s headquarters in Chicago, will lead the teams responsible for business development and client service, direct investment product management, equity index and fixed income product lines, the firm said in a statement.

“In this new role, John will bring extensive experience in product development and client service to bear in creating solutions that will position us well for future growth in the EMEA marketplace,” said Wayne Bowers, chief executive of NTGI in EMEA and Asia-Pacific.

At Northern Trust’s headquarters in Chicago, Krieg was head of global investment product management. Prior to joining the firm in 2002, he was director of relationship management and fixed income products for TimesSquare Capital Management.

Northern Trust opened its investment management arm in London in 1996; NTGI had $647.3 billion in assets under management as of 31 March 2010.
