Invest AD Taps Asian Markets For Gulf Investments
Invest AD, the UAE-based fund manager, is searching for
potential investment partners in China and Southeast Asia as it
seeks new investors into Africa and the Middle East,
Bloomberg reports.
The company is reportedly seeking partnerships with units of
large banks and quasi-sovereign and sovereign firms that will
open up opportunities in the Asian region.
"Many investment institutions have had a great deal of interest
in the Middle East and Africa; the asset prices there are cheaper
than other zones around the world,"
Mohammed Al Hashemi, the chief executive officer of Invest
AD's investment management unit, was quoted as
having said.
Mr Al Hashemi added that the company is also interested in
Southeast Asia and China. He went on to note that while
there are a lot of investment options in Dubai, with the city
accounting for around 4 per cent of the region's GDP, there are
other opportunities elsewhere in the world.
The firm is meeting with several fund managers in Hong Kong,
Beijing, and Singapore this week, Mr Al Hashemi added, without
giving specific details.
