The latest moves in wealth management across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Invesco PowerShares
Exchange-traded fund provider Invesco PowerShares has appointed Raphael Stern as head of portfolio management Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Stern will be based in London and will report to Brian Hartigan, global head of ETF investments. He will be responsible for building a team of local portfolio managers to manage the regional range of ETFs.

He has 10 years' experience within the sector. Most recently, he worked at Deutsche Bank Asset Management in London as a senior ETF portfolio manager.

Aviva Investors
Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva, has expanded its real estate asset management team in Europe with two hires to its Frankfurt office. Matthias Hübner has joined as fund manager of long income Europe and Alexander Sperl has joined as asset manager of real estate.

Both will report to Gil Bar, managing director of real estate Germany.

Hübner joins to primarily manage the Aviva Investors Continental European Long Lease Strategy, which launched earlier this year.  He joins from Deutsche Real Estate, where he was head of investment management in the German student housing market.

Sperl will be responsible for real estate asset management initiatives within the German hub. He joins from Commerz Real AG, where he spent nearly 10 years as a senior asset and investment manager for Germany and Austria.
