Global Impact Investing Network Appoints New Managing Director

The firm is a non-profit organisation that is dedicated to improving the awareness of impact investing
The Global
Impact Investing Network (GIIN), a non-profit dedicated to
increasing the scale and effectiveness of impact investing around
the world, has promoted Giselle Leung as managing director, in an
bid to engage with more mainstream financial players.
At GIIN, Leung will report to chief executive Amit Bouri, the
firm has said in a statement.
Leung will be responsible for providing guidance on how to
develop the global impact investing industry and will also help
establish and deepen relationships with strategic partners.
She joined GIIN in 2010 as one of its founding managers of the
firm’s investors’ council, working with experienced investors
like The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The Rockefeller
Foundation and Deutsche Bank. In 2015, she was promoted to
director of the GIIN, guiding the firm’s European strategy.
Before her time with GIIN, Leung worked at Enterprise Solutions
to Poverty (ESP), working with emerging markets to build social
enterprise solutions.
“In her most recent role as a director of our organisation,
Giselle has enabled the GIIN to develop crucial strategic
partnerships with other field-building organisations and funders
around the world,” said Bouri.
He added: “As the industry continues to grow, and as our
organisation continues to grow, Giselle’s leadership as managing
director will help to ensure that we remain focused and efficient
in our efforts to harness the untapped market potential of impact
investing around the world.”
Impact investments are made by investors into companies,
organisations, and funds with the intention to generate social
and environmental impact alongside a financial return.
