Most UK Professionals Would Consider Relocation – Brexit Survey

Much of the country’s workforce would consider packing up and leaving to work abroad, with mainland Europe being the destination of choice, the survey showed.
A 62 per cent majority of UK professionals would move overseas, or at least consider moving, should their employer offer to relocate them, according to a survey by Morgan McKinley, which polled around 5,000 professionals on the Brexit vote.
The respondents consisted of people working in the UK within banking and financial services (39 per cent), professional services (36 per cent) and commerce and industry (25 per cent).
Two-fifths of those working in banking and financial services said their companies were already in discussions, or at least considering, moving parts of their operations to another country. Of the 68 per cent of total respondents that believe the outcome of the referendum was the wrong decision for the UK, a notable 69 per cent are part of the banking and financial services sector. This is unsurprising given the potential loss of fund passporting rights in the event of a “hard” Brexit.
Broken down by age, only 23 per cent of millennials agreed with the outcome of the referendum, compared to 45 per cent of baby boomers.
