CBAM Adds Financial Planner

The asset management arm of London-listed Close Brothers hopes to enhance its presence in the Northern market with the new recruit.

The UK’s Close Brothers Asset Management has appointed Neil Davis as chartered financial planner to further develop its financial advice offering in the North West and North East.

With over 25 years in the financial services sector, Davis most recently worked at Armstrong Watson, where he developed a financial services advisory business in West Cumbria. He has previously worked as an independent financial advisor for CH Jeffries and Skipton Financial Services.

In the new role, Davis will be based in Newcastle. His responsibilities will cover the North West and North East, with a focus on Cumbria. He will manage all areas of financial planning for clients including lifetime needs and pre and post retirement tax planning.

“The pensions landscape is changing at a rapid pace with more freedom, more choice and increasing longevity. On top of this we have tax changes, and new products such as the Lifetime ISA. This means it is becoming even more challenging for people to plan their finances for the long term,” said Stewart Crockett, regional director at CBAM.

“Financial planning has a key role to play. We pride ourselves on the quality of the financial advice we provide our clients, and Neil will only add to this. His experience and client relationships span over two decades and will enhance our service across the North East and North West.”
