The US-based investment firm has created a new leadership role as part of its push for growth in the UK intermediary market.

T Rowe Price has hired Simon King to lead its client relationship management team serving fund selectors and financial intermediaries in the UK.

King, currently a client relationship manager at Woodford Investment Management, based in London, will join T Rowe Price in the newly-created role later this summer. He previously spent over a decade in the sales team at Thames River Capital/F&C.

“Attracting someone of Simon’s calibre to join us at T Rowe Price clearly demonstrates our long-term commitment to the UK intermediary market,” said the firm's head of UK business, John Yule.

“Simon is highly-respected and has a wealth of experience in this space, having held successful roles at Woodford and Thames River Capital/F&C. He will undoubtedly be a great addition to our team.”

T Rowe Price, which is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, managed assets of $765 billion as of the end of March 2016.
