Source Fills CFO Position

The UK-based investment firm and provider of exchange-traded products has completed its six-month search for the senior position.
Source has appointed its chief operating officer, Gary Buxton, to take on the additional role of chief financial officer.
Buxton, who has been with Source since its launch in 2009, will replace Anne Marie Whelehan, who left the firm last summer. Based in London, he is a member of the firm’s management committee and will retain his investment management and capital market responsibilities. This includes overseeing new product execution, trading, risk management and operations.
“We wanted someone who could combine financial and tax expertise with the ability to think strategically and understand not only the specifics of the ETF industry but also the unique aspects of Source. Fortunately for us, we had the ideal candidate already here,” said Source's chairman, Lee Kranefuss.
“Gary was the very first person employed by Source. When a company is going through a growth phase, as Source is now, it helps to have a certain amount of continuity, which Gary brings. The qualities he brings to the role of CFO also illustrate the depth of expertise we have available to us at the firm.”
Source has more than $20 billion in assets under management.
