Carey Olsen Expands Footprint To Singapore

The offshore law firm has established a presence in the city-state.

Carey Olsen has opened an office in Singapore.

The new office is led by managing partner Linda Lee who was formerly a partner in Allen & Overy's Singapore and Hong Kong corporate practices. She has been a corporate practitioner in these two jurisdictions for several years.

Carey Olsen's senior associates Elizabeth Killeen and Alan Hughes, from the British Virgin Islands’ corporate practice, have also been appointed to the Singapore team, which the firm expects to grow significantly as it develops its Asian network.

The Singapore office will initially focus on corporate and commercial transactions including capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and investment funds.

“We have a longstanding track record of providing offshore advice to international law firms and clients in Asia on an extensive range of matters and transactions, making establishing an office in Singapore a logical step. It also extends our network of international offices to cover all time zones and key financial markets,” Carey Olsen said.

The firm serves clients from the offshore financial centres of the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey. It also has offices in London and Cape Town.
