EXCLUSIVE: UBS Wealth Management Makes Senior Emerging Markets Hires

The world's largest wealth management firm has added to its team focused on global emerging market clients.

UBS Wealth Management has appointed two senior figures to its global emerging markets team in London, this publication can exclusively report today.

Sofia Sool has been appointed as head of wealth management for Central and Eastern Europe and Abdallah Najia has been appointed as head of Middle East and North Africa.

Previously based in Moscow, Sool was previously co-head of corporate client solutions, Russia and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) at UBS Investment Bank. She has previously held managing director roles at both Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.

Najia transfers from UBS Wealth Management Dubai, bringing over 20 years of investment experience. Having also worked in London, he has experience covering ultra-high net worth MENA clients. Previous roles have included senior positions at JP Morgan and Credit Suisse.

“As a tightly regulated financial centre, London is a key destination for international investors seeking legal and political stability. This, combined with the strength of our global network and our ability to collaborate across the business, means our London office is very well-placed to meet the needs of a global client base,” Nick Perryman, head of wealth management, GEM, London, said in a statement.

The new appointees report directly to Perryman.
