Prudential Adds Multi-Asset Head In Double Appointment

The asset management business has welcomed Michael Coop and Ciaran Mulligan to its senior management team.

The UK's Prudential Portfolio Management Group has appointed Michael Coop as head of multi-asset portfolio management and Ciaran Mulligan as head of manager oversight.

Coop and Mulligan join the London-based business, which manages Prudential UK's fund ranges, including its £76.7 billion ($119.8 billion) With-Profits Fund.

Coop brings over 25 years’ industry experience and joins from Sydney-based Ibbotson Associates, where he was head of multi-asset strategies. Replacing Matthew Williams, who left the group in January, he takes on responsibility for Prudential’s with-profits and unit-linked funds.

Meanwhile, Mulligan steps into a newly-created role to carry out due diligence on the asset managers PPMG employs. With over 14 years' industry experience, he most recently worked at Buck Consultants, which he joined in 2009.

“We take a team-based approach to managing our range of multi-asset funds and I’m delighted that the appointment of Michael and Ciaran will further strengthen the knowledge and expertise in the senior management team as we work with Prudential UK to build upon the range of investment propositions we offer,” said PPMG's chief executive, Al Denholm.

The pair join PPMG's team of over 60 economists, portfolio managers, analysts and risk professionals.
