Aviva Investors Adds Global Equities Fund Manager

Aviva's global asset management business has expanded its equities team in London with a new senior hire.

Aviva Investors, part of the London-listed Aviva group, has appointed Giles Parkinson in a newly-created role as global equities fund manager.

Parkinson joins from Artemis where he served as analyst and fund manager on the investment manager's £1 billion strategic assets fund. He had worked on that fund since launch in 2010. Before this, he was a global research analyst in oil and gas at Newton Investment Management.

Based in London, Giles will work on Aviva Investors’ global equity income fund alongside Richard Saldanha. He will report to the firm's head of global income for equities, Chris Murphy.

“He brings with him a strong pedigree in managing global equity mandates and a deep level of analytical skill across sectors,” said Murphy.

“Giles’s experience will stand us in good stead as we continue to develop our equity proposition in response to changing client requirements.”

Aviva Investors operates in 15 countries globally with assets under management of £247 billion ($378 billion) as of the end of March.
