Investec Asset Management Hires Multi-Asset Expert From Schroder

The asset manager has appointed Justin Simler to its multi-asset investment team.
Investec Asset Management has appointed Schroder Investment Management's Justin Simler as investment director in London.
Simler joins the multi-asset investment team following ten years at Schroder Investment Management, where he was most recently global head of product management for multi-asset.
In the newly-created role, Simler will be responsible for driving Investec’s multi-asset capabilities globally and working with clients to develop investment solutions. His appointment comes at a time of high demand for both growth and income strategies, the firm said.
“A growing number of clients want to target outcomes defined in terms of risk and return,” said the firm's co-head of multi-asset, Michael Spinks.
“With over 20 years of multi-asset investment experience within the team, our core investment capabilities are firmly established, and Justin Simler will play a key role in helping to grow this business.”
The firm's multi-asset business is also run by co-heads Philip Saunders and John Stopford.
As of the end of March, Investec Asset Management managed around $115 billion in assets worldwide. Earlier this week, it launched a Chinese equity fund as part of its flagship Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS Global Strategy fund range.
