North European Tech Firm Unveils Service For UK Private Client Market

Tieto, a north European IT services firm, has rolled out a stock-broking and private client wealth management online system for the UK market.

The system enables users to optimise and automate clients' multi-asset activities, from pre- to post-trade, in real time, on single client accounts and within a single business process, Tieto said in a statement.

“The UK is ripe for a single, end-to-end solution for private client firms, that covers all markets and all asset classes," said Helene Helvik, head of capital carkets at Tieto. She said that after developing strong client links in the north European region, the UK market was a “natural next step”.

“Our current customers achieve STP [straight through processing] rates of more than 99 per cent using the Tieto Securities solution. Indeed, the majority of these clients will connect to the LSE's Millennium Exchange via the Oslo Stock Exchange when the system migration goes live, later this year,” Helvik said.

Tieto has operated under this name since 2009; a firm of that name in Finland, founded in 1968, and a Swedish firm, Enator (founded in 1995), merged in 1999. Besides financial services, Tieto serves sectors such as energy, engineering, manufacturing, media and oil and gas.
