Julius Baer, the
Swiss private banking group, has added Stewart Edginton to its
portfolio management unit in London as team head of discretionary
specialists.
In his new function Edginton will head up a team of twelve
employees serving wealthy clients through portfolio
management.
Edginton started his career as portfolio manager at Singer and
Friedlander before moving to Merrill Lynch Portfolio Managers
where he served private clients. In 2008 he moved to Zurich to
set up and run a family office, before returning to the UK to
join Julius Baer at the beginning of 2014.
“We are pleased that Stewart has re-joined the team after 5 years
abroad, in this exciting phase of our development. He brings to
Julius Baer broad experience of catering to the needs of private
clients,” said Edward Raymond, head of portfolio management UK,
when commenting on the appointment.
In related news, Julius Baer yesterday announced its 2013
financial results, which revealed that its assets under
management rose 34 per cent year-on-year to SFr254 billion
($280.5 billion). The firm is currently integrating Merrill
Lynch’s international wealth management business outside the US,
which it purchased earlier this year. This will increase the
Zurich-headquartered group’s presence to more than 25 countries
and 50 locations. Read more on that story, here.
