Kinetic Bolsters New York Compliance Team

Kinetic Partners, a global financial services advisor, has added Douglas Shulman as director and Scott Kelly as associate director to its New York office.

Working within the regulatory compliance practice, Shulman will provide compliance services to hedge funds and private equity firms, while Kelly will split his time between FINRA registrations and anti-money laundering compliance services.

An attorney, Shulman joins Kinetic Partners from Two Sigma, where he held the role of chief compliance officer, preparing the firm’s multi-strategy hedge fund advisors for registration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Prior to this, Shulman was the CCO at Basswood Capital Management, and served in senior compliance roles at Citi Groups – Smith Barney and Franklin Resources.

Kelly joins Kinetic Partners from FINRA, where he was principal examiner, leading financial and operational examinations of member firms. He has previously held regulatory reporting positions with Merrill Lynch, Peirce, Fenner & Smith, Pershing, Paine Webber and Salomon Brothers.

As of June 30, 2013, Kinetic Partners had $2.97 billion in assets under management.
