Private client law firm Maitland has added a team of three lawyers to its newly-established Geneva office.
Francis Rojas, Anna Steward and Michael Wells-Greco all have a background at law firm Withers in Geneva.
The Geneva-based team together with two hires to the firm’s London and Cape Town offices in July take the number of private client specialists at Maitland to 20.
Rojas had been with Withers since 2005, when he joined as partner. He practised tax law in Canada until 2001, when he joined Baker & McKenzie in Zurich. He specialises in cross-border tax and trust planning with a focus on offshore structuring, global tax and asset protection issues.
Steward previously worked at Farrer & Co as well as Withers. She advises international clients on a range of wealth structuring issues including the establishment of complex trust structures and international will and tax planning.
Wells-Greco, meanwhile worked for Collyer Bristow in his prior career in addition to Withers. He works with clients and their family offices, trustees and private banks on international family law, trust and estate issues, with an emphasis on the UK and continental Europe.
Maitland set up its Geneva legal office in August. It previously had a trust company in the city, but it was wound up last month.
