Credit Suisse Names New ETFs Head
Credit Suisse has appointed Dan Draper as a managing director and head of exchange-traded funds within its asset management business, a role he will start later in the spring.
Mr Draper was formerly a managing director and global head of ETFs at Lyxor Asset Management, a subsidiary of Paris-listed Société Générale. Prior to this role he was director of UK and Ireland business development at iShares, a division of Barclays Global Investors – which itself was bought last year by New York-listed asset manager, BlackRock.
In his new role Mr Draper will be based in London and report to Oliver Schupp, head of beta strategies in asset management and co-head of Credit Suisse’s ETF steering committee.
“Dan’s extensive experience over the past decade in the development and trading of ETFs will be invaluable as we continue to grow this business,” Mr Schupp said in a statement.
The rising popularity of ETFs in recent years has been well-noted, with investors increasingly attracted to their liquidity, transparency and low costs. Credit Suisse - like many other institutions - has been rapidly expanding its ETFs business to keep pace with the sector’s growth. Last year the bank launched 16 new ETFs in Switzerland, along with 17 in Italy and 16 in Germany.
