The ESG Phenomenon: Bailard Obtains B Corp Status

The latest developments in the ESG space.
Bailard
Bailard, a US wealth
and asset management firm, has been granted certification as a B
Corporation™.
B Corp certification is a designation which
confirms that a business is, according to one
definition, “meeting high standards of verified performance,
accountability, and transparency on factors from employee
benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and
input materials.”
With so much emphasis being placed on diversity, equity and
inclusion, sustainability and ESG investing, firms are keen to
advertise their B Corp standard in order
to cultivate new and existing clients. More than 3,500
certified B Corps exist worldwide, Bailard said in a statement
late last week.
Bailard, which is based in the San Francisco Bay area, was
founded in 1969. It had more than $5.8 billion of assets under
management as at the end of 2023. It is led by women and majority
employee-owned. Its CEO is Sonya Mughal.
