HSBC Global Private Banking Launches "Global Biodiversity" Strategy

Lombard Odier has created the strategy and is running it on behalf of HSBC. The offering is only open to HSBC's HNW and ultra-HNW professional clients in Asia.
HSBC
Global Private Banking has launched a “global biodiversity
discretionary strategy” in Asia. The bank says is the first
discretionary mandate tapping into the biodiversity theme, an
example of how firms are continuing to promote products
linked to sustainability. Lombard Odier has built the strategy
and will run it on HSBC’s behalf – an example of the sort of
inter-bank collaborations that are taking place.
The strategy is a “high conviction” one, the firm said,
concentrating on “quality, mid-sized firms.” It looks at
eight biodiversity-related themes: biomaterials; water
solutions; sustainable food systems; innovative
urbanisation; sharing, repair and
eco-design; distribution systems; performance
materials; and waste and recycling.
Lombard Odier, which manages the strategy, is a founding member
of the Natural Capital Investment Alliance.
HSBC said the strategy will only be open to its high net worth
and ultra-high net worth professional investor clients in
Asia.
