BNY Mellon Consolidates International Wealth Leadership

BNY Mellon is combining its international wealth management groups into one, to drive business in the EMEA, Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions.
BNY Mellon has promoted Jeroen Kwist to lead its international business, spanning offices in London, New York, Miami, Cayman, Dubai and Hong Kong.
In his new role, Kwist - who previously ran the EMEA and APAC regions for BNY Mellon International Wealth Management - will report to executive director Erich Smith, who oversees the international, family office and charitable solutions groups.
He is tasked with integrating what were previously separate areas within BNY Mellon International Wealth Management into a single team.
“Over the past three years, Jeroen has been instrumental in leading our wealth management business in London while guiding the opening and development of our Hong Kong office,” Smith said. “In this new role Jeroen will work closely with me in driving a comprehensive growth strategy for the international wealth management business.”
Based in London, Kwist was born in the Netherlands but has lived in the US, Europe and Asia, and speaks several languages. Two years ago, he led the launch of BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s Hong Kong office, where assets under management have grown by nearly 25 per cent in less than two years.
Prior to joining the international wealth management group, Kwist, who has been with BNY Mellon Wealth Management for almost nine years, was a wealth manager and vice president in the firm’s Cleveland, OH, office. He has nearly 20 years of professional experience including positions in the US and internationally. Earlier in his career, he worked in management consulting.
