A summary of the main wealth management industry moves around the world during March 2025.
Diego Pivoz took up the role in Geneva of relationship manager
for ultra-high net worth clients for UBS, covering the Saudi
Arabia market. Prior to joining the Zurich-listed bank, Pivoz was
a senior relationship manager, working in the Middle East and
North Africa team, at HSBC’s private bank. He was based in Geneva
and worked there for more than four years in that role.
JPES Partners, a specialist consultancy in the investment
management sector, appointed Joanna Stocks as an independent
consultant. Most recently, she was director of alternatives and
private markets at St James’s Place Wealth Management.
Julius Baer appointed Michael Martin as a relationship manager,
primarily to advise clients on digital assets. Martin is based in
Zurich. Prior to his new role, he was global head of B2B sales
and partnerships, and managing director, at AMINA Bank, a lender
specialising in the digital assets space.
Vanguard appointed Pablo Bernal as country head for Spain.
Bernal, who joined Vanguard in Mexico in 2017, was most recently
the head of intermediary sales for Latin America. Prior to
Vanguard, Bernal was with Sherpa Capital, BlackRock and
Deloitte.
Ocorian’s Nordic Trustee, the independent loan and bond agent in
the Nordic region, appointed Aric Kay-Russell as director in its
London office. He joined Nordic Trustee in London ahead of the
launch of dedicated bond trustee services in the UK. Ocorian
also appointed Elizabeth Fisher as global head of partnerships.
She is based in London. Fisher, who started her career as a
corporate M&A lawyer, has more than 30 years of experience
and a multi-disciplinary skillset spanning law, litigation
finance, business development and commercial leadership.
Ocorian also appointed Andy Bailey as head of private client
business in Guernsey. Bailey has more than 25 years of experience
in financial services, encompassing broad roles across private
fiduciary, corporate fiduciary and investment banking.
Quilter Financial Planning welcomed PHW Wealth Partners as its
latest appointed representative firm to add its Northern Ireland
presence. PHW was founded by finance professionals Chris Power,
Ciaran Hamill, and Stephen Warke.
Forsters, a law firm, promoted five of its personnel as
partners: Joanna Brown, commercial real estate; Matthew Evans,
planning; Guy Mawson, family; Maryam Oghanna, trust and estate
disputes; and Thérèse Marie Rodgers, construction disputes.
Northern Trust Asset Management named Tim Brown in the
newly-created role of head of UK sales. Based in London,
Brown reports to Rutger Maenen, head of sales for Europe, Middle
East and Africa, NTAM. Brown was formerly at Dimensional Fund
Advisors where he served as head of institutional and EMEA
consultant relations group.
Catherine Morgan joined RWK Goodman as a partner in the family
law team. Morgan, who joined from Blake Morgan in
Oxford, advises clients in divorce matters, financial remedy
negotiations, private law Children Act matters, and
pre-nuptial/post-nuptial agreements.
Global service provider Hawksford appointed Simon Turner as head
of Africa. Based in Cape Town, Turner leads on developing and
implementing strategy across the African market. Turner has
nearly three decades of experience in building and transforming
businesses across South Africa, the UK, and Europe.
The board of Rathbones announced that Paul Stockton would be
retiring from the London-listed firm on 30 September 2025 after
16 years with the firm, six years of which were spent as group
chief executive.
Shareholders of EFG International re-elected Alexander Classen as
chairman of its board of directors for a one-year term. As
previously announced, Prasanna Gopalakrishnan, Périclès P
Petalas, Stuart M Robertson and Yok Tak Amy Yip decided not to
stand for re-election.
HSBC appointed Kanas Chan, formerly of Deutsche Bank, as head of
global private banking for North Asia and Hong Kong. She
succeeded Bryce Wan. Based in Hong Kong, Chan reports to Lok Yim,
regional head, global private banking, Asia-Pacific and Maggie
Ng, head of wealth and personal banking, Hong Kong.
Canaccord Wealth appointed Andy Kelly as it continues its
expansion into the IFA market. Kelly focuses on London and the
Southeast market. Kelly, who has 25 years’ industry experience,
joined from FE Investments where he spent eight-and-a-half years
promoting central investment propositions to IFAs.
Sparrows Capital, a UK-based investment boutique, appointed Paul
Fox and Michelle Liseli as business development managers. Fox
joined from Scottish Widows, where he was holistic business
development manager.
The private client, corporate, funds and pension services
provider, Fairway, appointed Jonathon Buesnel as client director
in the private client team. Prior to this, he was a director at
Apex Group in the Channel Islands.
Vanguard said it was forming a new team in its UK client group,
led by Doug Abbott, to provide support for digital and
execution-only (DXO) platforms and providers.
Within DXO, Selina Kirby was appointed head of digital and
execution. Tania Allerton, head of advisory, leads the team
responsible for Vanguard’s connections with UK independent
financial advisors. Andrew Surrey was appointed head of
wholesale.
Evelyn Partners appointed Gabriela Turner as a new director in
its London financial planning team. Turner joined from Satis
Wealth Management where she worked for more than four years, most
recently as senior financial planner. Evelyn Partners made
new appointments in its Leeds and Newcastle offices:
Mark Carter in Leeds, and Ross Bone in Newcastle.
Invesco promoted Georgina Taylor from head of multi-asset
solutions UK to head of client investment solutions EMEA,
reporting to Scott Wolle, CIO, Invesco Solutions.
Aberdeen Adviser, an advisor platform provider, appointed Max
Rothery as chief marketing officer, reporting to Verona Kenny,
chief distribution officer.
Julius Baer received regulatory approvals to enter Italy’s
onshore market and open a branch in Milan. It appointed Roberto
Coletta to head the branch; he joined Julius Baer in September
2024 from Deutsche Bank, where, since 2022, he was head of the
private banking operation in Italy. Coletta reports to Falk
Fischer, CEO Bank Julius Baer Europe SA.
Principal Asset Management appointed Richard Hill as global head
of real estate research and strategy. Hill has 24 years of
industry experience, most recently serving as head of real estate
strategy and research at Cohen & Steers Capital
Management.
The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment appointed
Oliver Bourke CFP™ Chartered FCSI (Financial Planning) as the new
chair of CISI’s Accredited Financial Planning Firm™ steering
committee. Bourke took over from Ian Pickford CFP™ Chartered FCSI
who stepped down as AFPF committee chair after three years.
Quilter Cheviot Europe (QCE), a European subsidiary of UK wealth
manager Quilter Cheviot, appointed Morgan Whelan as a
relationship and investment manager. Whelan most recently served
as manager for the Limerick branch of Bank of Ireland.
Brooks Macdonald appointed three senior investment experts in
Scotland: Stephen Martin, Alan Riddell, and Vicky Drysdale. They
are senior investment managers and heads of advisor solutions,
Scotland, respectively.
The Dubai Financial Services Authority, regulator of the Dubai
International Financial Centre, appointed Alan Linning as
managing director, enforcement. Most recently, Linning was a
partner at Mayer Brown, an international law firm in Hong Kong.
He succeeded Patrick Meaney, who has led the division for more
than seven years.
JTC made almost 200 promotions across its network to strengthen its global service proposition for corporate, fund and private clients. The promotions included a number at senior level. New senior directors included: Claire Driver (human resources); Lyndsey Adams (finance); Martin Cudlipp (corporate services) in Jersey; Lazarus Naidoo (fund services) in Cape Town; Martin Punt (fund and corporate services) in London; and Todd Rosenzweig (fund services) in Rockefeller, US.
The Monaco-based subsidiary of Zurich-listed EFG International,
EFG (Monaco), appointed its CEO, Carlo Maturi, as the new chair
of its board of directors. Maturi succeeded Jean-Claude Gourrut,
who retired after 15 years in the job, and a total of 20 years at
the bank. Hervé Ordioni succeeded Maturi as CEO of EFG Monaco,
reporting to Patrick Ramsey, EFG’s head of the Continental Europe
and Middle East Region.
Maturi led EFG Monaco as its general manager since 2009 and as
its CEO since 2018. He joined EFG Group 17 years ago, when EFG
bought Banque Monegasque de Gestion (Unicredit Group). Ordioni
most recently served as CEO of international private banking at
Edmond de Rothschild from 2022 to January 2025, and as chair of
its Monaco and UK entities.
Cazenove Capital appointed Hugo Ure as portfolio director in its
charities team. He has been in the investment field for 20 years.
Ure has worked at Troy Asset Management.
Mourant, a law firm-led professional services business, promoted
two new partners in the Channel Islands. Guernsey employment and
data protection law specialist, Rachel Guthrie, and Sam Malpass,
a member of the Jersey Finance & Corporate team, were promoted to
partner.
Stonehage Fleming appointed Sally Fernee as group head of
investment management operating function. Previously, she was
group chief of staff at Lombard International, alongside her
executive management and regulatory responsibility for a UK
advisory entity.
Charles Stanley appointed Chris Haywood as a senior portfolio
manager within Charles Stanley Fiduciary Management services.
Previously, he served as a senior investment consultant at XPS
Group, providing investment advice for around 20 advisory and
fiduciary management oversight clients.
Rathbones appointed Camilla Stowell as chief executive officer of
wealth to oversee investment management and financial
planning at the firm. Stowell was most recently managing
director, head of private and commercial client coverage at
Coutts.
Hawksford, an international provider of corporate, private client
and fund services, appointed Nik Zhukov as managing director of
Global Solutions, based in the UAE.
Brown Shipley appointed Paul Williams as head of compliance,
based in London. Williams, who succeeded Kelvin Clough, has
product, compliance and conduct experience gained over the past
20 years at firms, including GE Money, Lloyds Banking Group and
HSBC.
EQ Investors, a B Corp wealth manager, appointed Alistair Yeoman
as business development manager. Yeoman, has more than eight
years’ investment experience. EQ also promoted Tertius Bonnin to
co-portfolio manager of its suite of sustainable portfolios with
immediate effect.
Fintilect, an AI-powered digital banking provider working with
other financial organisations worldwide, appointed Lindsay
Soergel as CEO. She took over from interim CEO, Rami Cassis, who
became Fintilect’s chairman.
Kreston Global, an international accountancy network, appointed
Sharon Omer-Kaye (partner, James Cowper Kreston) as chair to the
Global Private Client Services (GPCS) group.
Azura Partners in Geneva appointed Tarek Sidky and Samir El Nawawy from UBS. Sidky and El Nawawy built careers at Credit Suisse before transitioning to UBS following the acquisition.
Brown Shipley said Robert Kitchen, who served as interim CEO
since 1 January 2025, assumed the role permanently. Based in
London, he replaced Calum Brewster who departed at the end of
last year.
AlphaSwiss, a Geneva-based asset management firm, appointed
Daniel Elias as a partner, deputy CEO and chief operating
officer. Elias has more than 25 years of experience at some of
the most prestigious private banks, including Edmond de
Rothschild and Lombard Odier, where he served as a member of the
executive committee.
Law firm Schellenberg Wittmer appointed Swiss-certified tax
expert Laïla Rochat as a partner.
UK-based LGT Wealth Management appointed Chris Golding as
investment manager in its Jersey Office. He joined after spending
nine years at Evelyn Partners International, where he most
recently served as head of investments, overseeing investment
strategy and the management of client assets.
Constantine Law, an employment and regulatory specialist law
firm, recruited John Milner, partner, to join its regulatory
team. Prior to this, Milner worked at IBB Law where he headed the
business crime and fraud team of the Southeast regional practice
in the UK.
International law firm Simmons & Simmons said Emily Monastiriotis
was elected to become managing partner. Monastiriotis succeeded
Jeremy Hoyland, who had held the position since 2011.
Chubb appointed Ana Robic, division president of personal risk
services for Chubb North America, as regional president for
Europe, Middle East and Africa. She succeeded David Furby, senior
vice president, Chubb Group.
Lazard Asset Management appointed Bertrand Levavasseur as
managing director and head of Switzerland. Levavasseur has more
than 15 years' experience in asset management business
development. He joined from Oddo BHF Asset Management, where he
served as head of strategic accounts and new markets.
North America
Equitable appointed advisor, Shebna Olsen-Shillibeer to join its wealth management arm, Equitable Advisors. Based in New York, Olsen-Shillibeer came from JP Morgan Wealth Management.
Financial advisors Mila Kisz and Roman Kisz joined the independent channel of Ameriprise Financial, from Edward Jones where they managed $100 million in client assets.
ArentFox Schiff, a law firm, appointed Molly F James to join its private clients, trusts and estates practice in Washington, DC. James, who was named as a partner, has more than 30 years’ experience guiding families through estate planning and administration. Prior to this, James was at Troutman Pepper Locke.
Mesirow made three hires in its alternative credit team: Nicholas Paidas, director, capital markets and sourcing; Servia Rindfleish, client portfolio manager; and Bryce Labonski, associate, asset management.
A former executive at KKR’s global wealth unit joined New York-listed Blue Owl Capital. Named global head of family capital, he is based in London and reports to James Clarke, global head of Blue Owl’s institutional business.
Flagstar Bank, a regional US lender working in 10 states, appointed Mark Pittsey as executive vice president, head of private banking and wealth management. Most recently, Pittsey served as head of global private banking Americas and wealth and distribution USA at HSBC. Before this, Pittsey held leadership positions at Deutsche Bank and Wells Fargo.
PGIM Fixed Income brought Deleep Singh back into the firm. Singh served in senior roles in the former Biden administration, the New York Federal Reserve, and US Treasury. Singh he took on the role of vice chair, chief global economist and head of global macroeconomic research.
RBC Wealth Management bought in a financial advisor team with nearly $300 million in client assets under management to its Las Vegas branch. Jordan Grangard, managing director – financial advisor, joined from UBS. Grangard, who has over 12 years of industry experience, specializes in servinhg in ultra-high net worth and business owner clients. The Grangard private wealth team includes Grangard, Jelena Draganic, senior business associate, Derek Smith, registered client associate, and Cheyeanne Escanuela, client associate.
Dynasty Financial Partners appointed Sam Anderson and Harris Baltch as co-heads of Dynasty Investment Bank. Before joining Dynasty, they worked at Goldman Sachs and UBS, respectively. Anderson and Baltch report to Justin Weinkle, Dynasty's chief financial officer, who was concurrently named chair of Dynasty's capital committee.
Carson Group appointed Ramesh Vaswani as chief technology officer. Vaswani came from Envestnet and has over two decades of experience in technology leadership. At Envestnet, he was global head of engineering.
Procyon Partners, an RIA, added Massimo Santicchia as senior vice president, head of US equities, and Katherine Gallagher, SVP, senior portfolio manager.
Mesirow, an independent, employee-owned financial services firm, appointed Ashley Crotwell as vice president, wealth advisor of Mesirow Wealth Management. Prior to joining Mesirow in 2025, Crotwell served as a senior wealth advisor at Sequoia Financial Advisors.
Wooster Square Advisors, a New Haven-based investment management firm, appointed Francis McGrail to lead the firm’s newly-founded Wooster Square Partners, focused on recruiting growth-minded advisors. McGrail has more than 30 years of financial services industry experience.
Avantax, a group of financial professionals specializing in tax within US-based Cetera Holdings, appointed Toby Brazzel. Brazzel moved to Avantax from Allstate Financial Services, where he had about $80 million in client assets under administration as of August 2024. He has been in the financial sector for more than 28 years.
Bill Crager, Envestnet co-founder and its CEO from 2019 to 2024, resurfaced on the board of directors at Fiduciary Exchange. Starting Envestnet in 1999, Crager became a high-profile figure in North American wealth management.
Global business advisor EisnerAmper appointed David Frigeri as partner and its chief artificial intelligence officer. With more than 25 years of experience, Frigeri previously guided organizations on developing AI tools, robotic process automation, and machine learning.
ArentFox Schiff added Todd Angkatavanich to its private clients, trusts and estates practice. He is a partner. Prior to this, he was a partner at in the private client group at McDermott Will & Emery LLP.
CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) appointed Scott Engelbrecht as its chief development officer. Engelbrecht has been an integral part of CLA for more than 30 years.
PureFacts Financial Solutions, which provides end-to-end revenue management solutions for the investment industry, appointed three executives to its C-suite. They are Robert O’Boyle, chief revenue officer; Anuradha (Anu) Dodda, chief technology officer; and Stephen Tkaczyk as chief financial officer.
Savvy Wealth, a digital platform for financial advisors, appointed Eric Hurkman as its first chief technology officer. Hurkman is a career software engineer with more than a dozen years’ experience building and leading engineering teams and developing software in the fintech industry.
RBC Global Asset Management has hired Connor Antisdale as a senior corporate analyst on the BlueBay US high-yield team. Antisdale – based in Stamford, Connecticut – reports to Andrzej Skiba, head of BlueBay US fixed income at RBC Global Asset Management.
Raymond James
The firm appointed financial advisor Davis Brister to join the
group’s employee advisor channel, in Mandeville, Louisiana.
Brister arrived from Merrill Lynch.
It welcomed financial advisor Jason Torrey-Payne to its employee advisor channel. As Torrey-Payne Wealth Management of Raymond James, based in Pasadena, California, Torrey-Payne provides wealth management guidance to a variety of clients.
Raymond James also welcomed financial advisor Steven Porter to its employee advisor channel, in Winter Park, Florida. Porter arrived from Charles Schwab.
It appointed Ronice Barlow in the newly-formed role of chief operating officer for its independent contractor division. Most recently, she was senior vice president, senior strategic sales director for the US Wealth division of Franklin Templeton.
The firm welcomed financial advisor Barbie Beck to its employee advisor channel. Beck is based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she was joined by client service associate Ana Mae Billingsley. Beck, who was previously affiliated with Morgan Stanley, managed over $140 million in client assets.
An advisor who had worked before with UBS Financial joined the employee advisor arm of Raymond James in Vero Beach, Florida. Russell Cappelen operates as Cappelen Wealth Management of Raymond James. At UBS, he ran about $394 million in client assets.
Raymond James welcomed financial advisors Daniela Fricke and Kelly Erickson to its employee advisor channel. The duo, who arrived from LPL Financial, where they managed nearly $200 million in client assets, were joined at Raymond James by senior client service associate Melissa Phillips. They are based in Newport Beach, California.
Raymond James welcomed financial advisor Judy Chong to its
employee advisor channel in Maite, Guam. She arrived from Merrill
Lynch and was joined by investment portfolio associate Brianna
Tabilas, and client service associates Hope Chamberlain and Toni
Vegafria.
Asia-Pacific
Citigroup appointed Akira Hoshino as head of markets for Japan, to drive business growth and lead the markets franchise in Japan. He reports to Paul Smith, head of markets for Japan, Asia North and Australia, and Robert Nakamura, Citi country officer and banking head for Japan. Hoshino joined the US bank in 2019.
Former VP Bank chief executive Paul Arni was named as non-executive director at WRISE Singapore. Arni informs WRISE Singapore’s corporate strategy, governance, risk appetite and advise it about significant risk events. Arni worked at VP Bank for five years. Besides his VP Bank position, Arni served in leadership roles at banks such as Deutsche Bank (Switzerland), Julius Baer in Zurich, and Credit Suisse, also in the Swiss city.
HSBC appointed Kanas Chan, formerly of Deutsche Bank, as head of global private banking for North Asia and Hong Kong. She succeeded Bryce Wan and is based in Hong Kong. Chan reports to Lok Yim, regional head, global private banking, Asia-Pacific and Maggie Ng, head of wealth and personal banking, Hong Kong. Chan joined Deutsche Bank in 2007.
Lombard Odier said Vincent Magnenat, group regional head of Asia and global head of strategic alliances, had relocated to London from Singapore. Magnenat, who continued in his roles, also took on additional responsibilities – he became Lombard Odier Investment Managers’ UK CEO.
Equiom Group, a global provider of professional services, appointed Sharon Yam as its new regional head of Asia. Yam has more than 20 years of experience in private wealth, fiduciary, and corporate services. She served in senior leadership and board positions at major financial institutions and asset management firms, including Ocorian, TMF, BNP Paribas Private Bank, and Citigroup.
BNP Paribas appointed Eric Tran as chief sustainability officer for global banking, Asia-Pacific. Prior to this, Tan served as the head of sustainability for transaction banking, APAC. Tan reports hierarchically to Krishnan Venkatesh, head of corporate clients group, APAC, functionally to Cosmin Dragan, chief ESG transition officer, global banking, and has a dotted reporting line to Aymar de Liedekerke Beaufort, head of global banking APAC. Tan was due to move to Singapore from Hong Kong.
Sun Life appointed Bennet Li as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Asia. Li reports to Tim Deacon, executive vice president and chief financial officer, and Manjit Singh, president of Sun Life Asia. He had been interim CFO for Sun Life Asia since September 2024. Li joined Sun Life in 2002.
Asia’s Lioner International Group appointed former HSBC private banking figure Andy Leung as managing director in consultancy. Prior to joining Lioner, Leung was head of wealth planning at HSBC Private Banking for the Greater China markets.
Howden, a global insurance intermediary group, promoted two figures to join its private wealth management team: Bryan Pee and Shirley Sy. Pee was promoted to CEO for Singapore and Malaysia; while Sy became deputy CEO for Hong Kong. Sy, at the firm since 2011, had been head of operations in the private wealth business, since 2014.
Citi Australia and New Zealand appointed Ben Connolly and Philippe Perzi as co-heads of capital markets and advisory. Connolly was managing director and head of real estate for Citigroup in Australia and New Zealand. Perzi joined from Goldman Sachs where he was MD and head of its financial institutions group. Both individuals report to Jan Metzger, Citigroup’s head of investment banking for Asia-Pacific and locally to Mark Woodruff, Citi Australia CEO. Both men are based in Sydney.
Manulife appointed a new CEO and president for Asia, Steve Finch. He succeeded Phil Witherington. Finch had served as Manulife’s chief actuary. Prior to that, Finch was chief financial officer at John Hancock, Manulife’s US business and, before that, he served as the general manager of the company’s US life insurance business.
RBC Wealth Management Asia appointed Kamran Azim, chief operating officer (COO), in the newly-created role of head of private banking, Singapore. Azim, who is maintaining his COO role, has held senior positions across RBC Wealth Management and RBC Capital Markets since joining the bank in Toronto in 2008.
Other hires at the RBC wealth business included:
-- Jessie Heng, managing director and team head; she has over 28 years of experience in the private banking industry. Heng was previously a cluster head for a Southeast Asia team at Bank Julius Baer.
-- Moses Seow, executive director, has 25 years of financial services industry experience across retail, wealth products, asset management, corporate banking and private banking. He was previously at Lombard Odier Asia in Singapore, where he was an executive director and team head for Greater China.
-- Derrick Yong, director, previously at VP Bank, has more than 24 years of wealth management experience across international banks such as Standard Chartered Bank, Clariden Leu, EFG and CIMB.
-- Eng Huat Thio, director has more than three decades of financial services experience developed in roles with Standard Chartered Bank, BNP Paribas Wealth Management and OCBC Bank. He was most recently a relationship manager with Julius Baer.
Aberdeen Investments appointed Isaac Thong from JP Morgan Asset Management as senior investment director on the Asia Pacific equities team. Thong is based in Singapore, and replaced Yoojeong Oh, who left Aberdeen to pursue other interests. Thong reports to Flavia Cheong, head of Asia Pacific equities, Aberdeen.
Bank of Singapore appointed Joey Tang as head of the Investment Solutions Group Hong Kong. Tang, based in Hong Kong, reports to Singapore-based Vivienne Chia, global head of the Investment Solutions Group; he has a local reporting line to Rickie Chan, head of Private Banking, Greater China, and chief executive, Hong Kong branch.
Tang is an industry veteran with close to 30 years of experience in investment banking and private banking. Before joining the Bank of Singapore, he was the head of funds, alternatives, and solutions at the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Private Banking.
PIMCO appointed David Orazio as its executive vice president and head of global wealth management for Australia. He replaced Brendo Rodda, who left PIMCO for a distribution role at Allianz Retire. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2015, Orazio was the national key account manager for Macquarie private portfolio management.
Endowus, an Asian independent wealth platform, appointed Janet Hung as head of client advisory, in Hong Kong. She leads client management across individual clients, family offices, and institutions. Hung has more than 18 years’ experience in institutional sales working with alternative asset managers, sovereign wealth and family offices. Prior to Endowus, she worked for 16 years at Nomura and Lehman Brothers.
Jasmine Chan leads its investment office in Hong Kong, serving as investment advisory director. Previously, she worked at Credit Suisse and Barclays Wealth in structuring investment solutions. Sam Rhee’s new mandate as group chief investment officer was expanded to include the group’s overall investment strategy. Hugh Chung took over the reins as chief investment officer.
