The firm focuses on opening up crypto assets and distributed ledger technology to institutional and professional investors.

Aaro Capital, the crypto assets and distributed ledger technology investment specialist, has named Saul Benjamin as its chief operating officer. With more than 20 years of financial services experience, he will be joining a team of 20. Benjamin will be based in London reporting to chief executive Peter Habermacher.

Prior to joining Aaro Capital, Benjamin served as the global COO at Investcorp-Tages, overseeing multi billion dollar alternative asset management operations. He has held executive positions at Tages Capital, Tarchon Capital Management, and Pamplona Capital Management. He holds a degree in economics and social studies from the University of Manchester and is a chartered accountant and CAIA charterholder.

“His deep understanding of the alternative asset management industry, combined with his leadership skills, will be instrumental in driving our strategic objectives and serving our institutional clients as Aaro Capital continues to open up the exciting new assets class of crypto assets and DLT to institutional and other professional investors in the rapidly-evolving market that is becoming increasingly active,” Peter Habermacher, CEO and co-founder at Aaro Capital, said.

Aaro Capital was established in 2018. Team members included figures such as Aaro’s head of investment research Peter Rigg (former global head of HSBC Alternative Investment Group), head of operational due diligence Olga Romanova (former head of operational due diligence at International Asset Management), sales director Liz Adnitt (former head of UK wholesale distribution at Sanlam Investments) and chairman Stuart MacDonald (managing partner at Bride Valley Partners).
