UBS Wealth Management Makes Triple Promotion

Three investment specialists have moved up the ranks of UBS's wealth management business.

UBS Wealth Management has made three promotions within its London-based investment products and services team.

Tim Kent-Robinson, who joined UBS in 1999 and has worked in the investment management team for the past 12 years, has been promoted to head of IPS portfolio specialists. He replaces James Mulford, who was appointed head of investment management last year. Kent-Robinson will lead the team advising clients on discretionary and advisory mandates.

Meanwhile, James Kimalat has been promoted to the new role of head of IPS portfolio specialists, global emerging markets. He has been part of the firm's IPS team for the past decade, and has served as a portfolio specialist since 2011. Kimalat will lead a newly-formed group of portfolio specialists focusing on global emerging markets clients.

Thirdly, Ben Geldenhuis, a senior member of UBS’s mortgages team, becomes head of mortgage solutions, replacing Osman Rankin, who recently left the firm to take some time out of the industry. Geldenhuis joined UBS in 2012 from HSBC Private Bank, and has over 15 years’ experience in the UK mortgage market for high value properties.

“We are delighted to announce the promotion of three long-serving team members. It reflects both their hard work and the huge value we place on building and improving the solutions we provide to clients,” said Paddy Lewis, the firm's head of investment products and services for UK and Jersey.

The appointments follow UBS Wealth Management's hire of Jonathan Nash last week as alternative investments distribution specialist for the UK and Jersey. Earlier this month, the wealth manager reported a pre-tax operating profit of SFr2.689 billion (around $2.64 billion) for 2015, compared to SFr2.326 billion a year earlier.
