Ex-Old Mutual Global Investors Boss Becomes CEO At Source UK

Source, the European provider of exchange-traded funds, appointed the well-known industry figure to the helm of its UK business.
Old Mutual Global Investors' former chief executive, Julian Ide, has been appointed CEO of Source UK Services.
Ide has over 25 years' financial services experience, having most recently served as CEO at Old Mutual Global Investors between 2011 and August 2015. He left the firm as part of a management shake-up at OMGI's parent company, Old Mutual Wealth, following the launch of a new investment division.
He previously held senior roles at BBVA Asset Management, Credit Suisse Asset Management, ABN AMRO Asset Management and Schroder Investment Management.
“Source believes it has one of the most experienced teams in the ETF industry globally, and someone of Julian’s calibre and skills will complement and extend this to new heights,” said Lee Kranefuss, executive chairman at Source.
“His appointment is a clear reflection of the significant impact ETFs are making across retail, wholesale and institutional markets and of Source’s ambitions to be the leading, most innovative provider of traditional and actively managed ETFs in our chosen markets.”
Ide will join Source's London office in mid-April. His appointment follows a number of recent hires and promotions at the firm. Last month, Source made 17 promotions across Europe, including that of Kate Dwyer to executive director in the UK coverage team, as part of a growth drive. In January, the firm appointed its chief operating officer, Gary Buxton, to take on the additional role of chief financial officer.
Source's assets under management, which grew by 26 per cent over 2015, stand at more than $19 billion.
