After a career in investment banking, he moved to the wealth management sector and, with Cripps Harries Hall, founded the business that has since evolved into Heartwood in 1988. He was CEO of Heartwood until becoming Chairman in March 2009. David founded and was Chairman of the Association of Solicitors Investment Managers 1993-1996 and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment. He is a member of the Advisory Board of CharinCo and ChariShare and a member of the Financial Services Forum's Wealth Management Committee.

Terry has also been a leader in the social enterprise sector where he was the Executive Director of Hong Kong Adventist Hospital and the Director of Advancement at the University of Hawaii Foundation.

James Dowey is the Chief Economist and Investment Director at Neptune, having previously taught at the LSE and Aberdeen Business School. He is also currently a PhD scholar at the LSE.

James leads Neptune’s global economic research. He joined Neptune as an Economist in May 2007 and was appointed Chief Economist in September 2009 and Investment Director in July 2010. Previously James has taught economics and economic history at the London School of Economics and Aberdeen Business School and worked in actuarial consultancy. He has degrees in economics from Edinburgh and King's College, Cambridge and is currently a PhD scholar at the LSE.

Ian Ewart is head of Products, Services and Marketing at Coutts.

He joined in March 2012 and leads the Marketing and Communications function and spearheads all aspects of sales and the client experience; he has overall responsibility for Products & Services. He is a member of the Executive Committee of Coutts and also a member of the RBS Group Communications Board. Prior to joining Coutts, Ian held the position of Head of International Marketing at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. His career has been in strategy and marketing in international private banking and asset management. He has held a number of senior marketing positions, notably at Barclays, HSBC and Paribas.

Christian A. Edelmann heads Oliver Wyman’s Corporate & Institutional Banking and Wealth & Asset Management practice in Asia-Pacific. He is based in Hong Kong.

Christian has worked with major financial institutions in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, covering Wholesale & Investment Banks, Wealth & Asset Managers, and (Post)-Trading organisations. In his recent work he has particularly focused on client coverage models, distribution and product strategies, business model optimisation and strategic risk management. He has co-authored some of our most recent reports on Transaction Banking and is a regular speaker at industry conferences.

Christian holds a Master degree in Law and a Master degree in Business and Economics from the University of Basel (Switzerland). He also earned the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and the FRM (Financial Risk Manager) designation.

Amit joined Fidelity International in Mumbai in 2003 as a Research Analyst, covering domestic Financials, Telecoms and Technology stocks. In 2006, he became Sector Leader for Asian Financials, before moving to cover Materials in January 2007. From April 2008 until January 2012, Amit managed the Fidelity Funds Global Industrials Fund.

Richard Harris is the Chief Executive of Port Shelter Investment Management. He was the Founding Managing Partner of a multi-asset Family Office manager, Grace Financial, and formerly CEO of Quam Asset Management. Michael Olesnicky is the head of Baker & McKenzie’s tax group in Asia and a member of its global tax steering committee. He has been based in Hong Kong for over 25 years. His practice focuses on corporate tax and tax dispute work, as well as wealth management, trusts and personal estate planning and family succession matters. He also advises many financial institutions on stamp duty matters. He is an Australian trained lawyer. Rory Tapner, chief executive, Coutts. Rory is a member of the RBS Group Management Committee. He joined Rowe & Pitman in 1983, working in the corporate finance department. When Big Bang occurred in 1986, Rowe & Pitman merged into SG Warburg, creating a truly integrated financial services platform. SG Warburg then merged into Swiss Bank Corporation and Rory became Global Head of its Equity Capital Markets division.

Following a further merger, between UBS and SBC, Rory was appointed joint Global Head of Investment Banking. He was then appointed Chairman and CEO of UBS Group across Asia Pacific, responsible for Investment Banking, Wealth Management and Asset Management. He joined the UBS Group Executive Board in 2006.

He then worked for UBS (from 1996 to 1998), Coutts Bank (1998 to 1999) and Citi Private Bank of Citigroup (from 1999 to early 2010).
