WTUK Equity Firm Prepare for Data Surge

London-based private equity firm Cognetas has chosen the Framework software package from 3i Infotech to help manage its investment portfolio.

As the economic climate improves firms are eager to take on more clients. But with the retail distribution review around the corner infrastructure, especially regarding data handling and reports, will need to be improved.

“Anticipating some upturn in activity in the next eighteen months, we recognised the need to improve the way we manage information about our portfolio companies in order to be able to monitor developments and react quickly,” said Simon Brown, Cognetas chief financial officer.

Framework is an alternative assets software product that aids risk management, data reporting and operational processes. Firms using the software have combined managed assets of $200 billion. Mumbai-based 3i Infotech provides software and IT services such as payment services and operations outsourcing and has customers in over 50 countries.

Cognetas, formerly known as Electra, advise two funds of €2 billion ($3 billion) combined.
